Hackintosh Parts List…

Gotta love it...

Gotta love it...

Here is the list of parts I used to build the Hackintosh. GelohPig, TeLeKiNeSiS and PhiberOptiks based their list off of this one and made minor changes in places that wouldn’t impact the OS install process (much.) It’s a pretty damn good starting point for a Hackintosh that can grow over time…say, by adding a quad core proc :-) And with a price point of around 280 without hard drives it doesn’t break the bank.

LITE-ON Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD Burner with LightScribe – Retail 27.99

BFG nVidia 9400 GT 512MB Video Card 50.00

I OC’d mine to 3Ghz with stock cooling and it runs great. With 2 IDE drives and a SATA DVD burner in it everything runs good, but adding an additional 500GB SATA drive caused the BIOS to reset my OC settings. I’m thinking I might be pushing the limit of what this PSU can handle so I’m probably gonna order a 500w PSU next week so I don’t have to go back to running the system @ 2.5Ghz
